Bam! This is my first post, and I am pretty excited to start sharing my vinyl and telling stories that are associated with them. There really is no better way to start off than by showing off the first record that I ever purchased. And so here it is.
I obtained a copy of Motley Crues debut album "Too Fast For Love" in 1987 at some flea market in Greeley Colorado. I was ten years old at the time. Given the time period, I still think that for a little kid, this was a solid decision for a first time record purchase. And by the way, this sucker is still in near mind condition. At the time, Motley Crue was one of the biggest rock bands in the world. And my mother was a cool enough parent to let me listen to what I wanted to listen to. Little did I know that this band, and specifically Tommy Lees upside down drum antics would heavily influence my decision to play the drums later on. Say what you want about Tommy Lee, but the dude is a great rock drummer! High energy and solid as hell! And when you are ten years old in 1987, watching someone play the drums upside down in the "Wild Side" video was mind blowing. This band had a serious grip on my young musical mind for years afterward.
